WSD Celebrates Patriot Day
Students across the District participated in Patriot Day activities on September 11 to remember the lives lost on 9/11 and to honor first responders and community service providers. Since they couldn’t hold their usual large-scale events this year, students and staff found creative ways to remember the significance of the day. Wabash Elementary, Heritage Primary and Heritage Intermediate students made cards to honor local first responders. Heritage Intermediate staff members came together to create a fun dance challenge for Wentzville firefighters, police, and city officials.
At Frontier Middle and Timberland High, a special reading was shared over the morning announcements, and the 8th grade choir at Frontier Middle sang the National Anthem. Staff and students across the WSD proudly wore red, white and blue, observed a moment of silence, and discussed the historical significance of the events that took place on 9/11. #WeAreWentzville
