• March is School Board Appreciation Month, and the WSD would like to thank its seven Board of Education members who volunteer their time to serve for the betterment of their community and its schools. Missourians benefit every day from the dedicated energy and countless hours devoted by a group of more than 3,600 men and women from communities across the state. These public servants are elected by local constituents and do not receive compensation for their tireless efforts. They are the local school board members of Missouri.

Communities across the state are honoring the dedicated service of their local boards of education during the month of March. Here in the WSD, each school created a banner thanking our Board of Education and the auditorium was decorated with those banners for the Board of Education meeting at Liberty High School in March. The goal is to build awareness and understanding of the important function an elected board of education plays in communities and in the education of our children. Being a board member is no easy task in the fastest growing school district in the state, and we are grateful for their time and efforts on behalf of all students, staff and stakeholders in the WSD.

Thank you for selflessly guiding the direction of the fastest growing district in Missouri!
