  • A Word About Our Namesake.....
Mr. Kevin Barfield retired in 2015 from the Wentzville School District after 32 years of service.  Kevin served as the custodian of the Early Childhood Center since its inception in 2003.  While Kevin's primary responsibility was to ensure the building was clean and safe he was considered the patriarch of the school.  Because of his dedication he transcended his position and touched the lives of students and staff alike.

  • How will Level 2 and the Virtual Academy work at BEC?

    Level 2 Instruction
Half of the students will attend Monday-Tuesday (A-A) and the other half will attend Thursday-Friday (B-B).  Families A through L are designated A-A (Monday-Tuesday attendance) and M through Z are B-B (Thursday-Friday).  A-A/B-B status is determined by the oldest student's last name in the household.  Level 2 permits us to reduce by roughly half the number of students in a classroom and minimize students' possible exposure to COVID-19 as well as enhance social distancing.

A-A-Mon-Tues (A through L families) First Day of School is Monday, August 24

AM Class 10:00 - 11:00 = 60 min of Virtual Instruction/Consultation for AM students.  Teachers will schedule blocks of time to provide instruction to smaller groups once class lists are finalized.  Once a family is assigned a time that time will not change so that arrangements can be made and lives planned.

PM Class 12:45 - 2:15 = 90 min of Virtual Instruction/Consultation for PM students.   Teachers will schedule blocks of time to provide instruction to smaller groups once class lists are finalized.  Once a family is assigned a time that time will not change so that arrangements can be made and lives planned.
