The Wentzville School District prioritizes the safety and security of our students, staff, and schools.
Report a Safety Concern
Students, parents, faculty, staff, and community members are encouraged to report school safety concerns during or after school hours using the following methods:
- Start by contacting the building administration in person, by phone, or by email.
- If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Courage2Report.
- If you believe there to be an imminent danger, contact 911 (as the above methods are not monitored 24/7).
The District will assess and follow up on all information received and will maintain the confidentiality of information sources.
Please use these tip lines responsibly.Common Language Response Protocol
During emergencies, our school communities will use the standardized communication listed below. This predetermined shared language is essential for minimizing confusion and ensuring that everyone has a clear understanding of the situation.
-
Hold
Used to hold students in the room or area and clear the halls.
-
Lockdown
Used to safeguard students and staff when a threat exists within the building and evacuation is not possible. This protocol is used to secure individual rooms and keep occupants quiet and in place. Building entry and student signouts will not occur during this time, as staff will also be sheltering.
-
Evacuate
Used to safeguard students and staff when a threat exists in a portion or the entire building and creates a need to move students from one place to another.
-
Reunification
Used if it becomes necessary to relocate students and staff from the original school buildings to an alternate location.
-
Severe Weather Alert
Used if there is an impending weather situation or tornado emergency (tornado warning). All students and staff will take shelter in the designated tornado safety area until the National Weather Service declares the warning over. Student signouts will not be possible during this time, as staff will also be sheltering.
-
Accidental Activation of SafeDefend
Used in the event of an accidental activation of a SafeDefend box within the school. No threat was identified.
