Angela Schmitt Named 2025 HOSA Local Chapter Advisor of the Year & TSA Middle School Advisor of the Year

Angela Schmitt, a science teacher at Frontier Middle School in the Wentzville School District, received the Local Chapter Advisor of the Year Award at the Missouri HOSA State Leadership Conference on March 24 and the Technology Student Association (TSA) Middle School Advisor of the Year on April 6.
Schmitt helped launch the district's first middle school HOSA and TSA chapters last year. "Our goal was to help cross building and age lines by working with high school and middle school students together to help promote leadership for both our students," Schmitt said.
This year, FMS HOSA attended the State Leadership Conference, and 24 of the school’s 27 competitive HOSA members placed in the top five of their events. All 27 have been invited to attend the HOSA International Leadership Conference in June in Nashville.
In the TSA State Championships, a remarkable 23 FMS students qualified to compete at the state level. An outstanding 19 FMS projects earned first place. Additionally, 13 FMS projects secured second place, and 12 FMS projects achieved Finalist recognition, placing them within the top five in their respective events.
"Angie's dedication to providing these invaluable opportunities for our students is truly commendable, and I am incredibly proud of both her and the hard work of our Frontier Middle School students," said Dr. Kathryn Greer, the school's principal.
HOSA is an international student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education Division of ACTE. HOSA's mission is two-fold: to promote career opportunities in the healthcare industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA's goal is to encourage all health science instructors and students to join and be actively involved in the HSE-HOSA Partnership.
Missouri TSA is affiliated with national Technology Student Association (TSA), a non-profit, nationally recognized Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) devoted to the development of students in technology education. Missouri TSA serves more than 2,200 middle and high school students in 90 local school chapters.
