New Administrators for the 2021-2022 School Year
The WSD welcomes our new administrators for the 2021-2022 school year:
Congratulations to Dr. Amanda Shelmire for having been hired as the new principal of North Point High School. Dr. Shelmire has worked for the WSD as an Assistant Principal at Holt High School for the past eight years. Prior to that, she taught Mathematics at Fort Zumwalt West High School. In 2015, Dr. Shelmire was nominated for the St. Louis Association of Secondary School Principals Assistant Principal of the Year. She won the Peabody Logos Leader in Education Award in 2012, was the Teacher of the Year for Fort Zumwalt West High School in 2011, and was the Walmart Teacher of the Year in 2009. Dr. Shelmire earned her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from Lindenwood University, and she taught as an Adjunct Professor there in the School of Education. The new high school is scheduled to open in the Fall 2021.
The Board approved Jason Moore as Assistant Principal at North Point High School, effective July 1, 2021. Mr. Moore has been an Assistant Principal at Holt High School since July 2018. Prior to that, he taught Social Studies for 16 years at Holt. As a teacher, Mr. Moore was teacher of the month four times and a Teacher of the Year finalist twice. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a master’s degree from William Woods University.
The Board approved Jacob Adams as the Activities Director at North Point High School, effective July 1, 2021. Dr. Adams has been an assistant principal at Holt High School since July 2015. Prior to that, he taught Social Studies for 11 years and served as Department Chair for eight years at Holt. Dr. Adams was the head boys and girls tennis coach from February 2005 to July 2015 and Link Crew Coordinator from August 2012 to July 2015. Dr. Adams has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a master’s degree from Lindenwood University, and a doctorate from Maryville University.
The Board approved Andrew Hammond as Assistant Principal at Holt High School, effective July 1, 2021. Mr. Hammond has been a Social Studies teacher at Holt for the past eight years. He has also served as head coach of wrestling and football at Holt and as a head coach for track at Wentzville Middle School. Mr. Hammond has served on the District's Professional Development Committee and helped pilot the Holt Athletic Leadership Program. Mr. Hammond has a bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education from Jamestown College, and he holds a master’s degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in Educational Leadership.
The Board approved Sonya Borders as Assistant Principal at Holt High School, effective July 1, 2021. Ms. Borders is currently a Dean of Students in the Francis Howell School District. Prior to her role in Francis Howell, she served as the English/Language Arts Department Chair at Liberty High School and was the English/Language Arts Department Chair at Wentzville South Middle School for 12 years starting in 2001. Ms. Borders has participated in the Wentzville School District’s We-LEAD program, was a Teacher of the Year at South Middle School, and chartered the Key Club at Liberty High School. Ms. Borders has a bachelor’s degree from Southeast Missouri State University, her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Missouri Baptist University, her Specialist’s Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Missouri Baptist University, and is pursuing a doctorate degree from Missouri Baptist University.
The Board of Education has approved the hiring of Dr. Keri Skeeters as Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, effective July 1, 2021. Dr. Skeeters is currently the Director of Instructional Programming in the Teaching and Learning Department and has been with the Wentzville School District since 2002. Dr. Skeeters started her career as an English Language Arts Teacher at Timberland High School from 2002-2007, continued her career as a Curriculum Coordinator from 2007-2016, and broadened her impact in her current position over the past four years. Dr. Skeeters has served as Chairperson of the Language Arts Regional Consortium (LARC), chaired the Missouri DESE 6-12 ELA Workgroup for the rewriting of state standards, and has led Wentzville School District staff in numerous integral programming initiatives including CI3T and the Flexible Learning Cohort. Dr. Skeeters holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from the University of Missouri, Saint Louis, a Master’s Degree from the University of Phoenix in Educational Administration, and her Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from Maryville University in St. Louis.
The WSD Board of Education has approved the hiring of Susan Dawson as Director of Accounting, effective July 1, 2021. Ms. Dawson is currently the Chief Financial Officer for the Valley Park School District where she has worked since 2016. Prior to joining Valley Park, she was the Director of Accounting for the Wentzville School District from 2008 to 2016. Ms. Lauren-Dawson served as the Financial Reporting Manager for the Rockwood School District and as a Grant Accountant for Special School District. Ms. Lauren-Dawson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Religious Studies from the University of California, Riverside. She holds an MBA with an Accounting emphasis from the University of Missouri St. Louis where she was a Beta Gamma Sigma Business School Student Honor Society member. Ms. Dawson is involved in local professional networks such as the Association of School Business Officials International and the Missouri Association of School Business Officials.
The WSD Board of Education has approved the hiring of Lisa Salisbury as Director of Purchasing, effective July 1, 2021. Ms. Salisbury is currently the Budget and Procurement Officer for the City of O’Fallon Police Department where she has worked since 2005. Ms. Salisbury started her career with the City of O’Fallon as a Recreation Specialist in 2004. She is a Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO). She is qualified as a National Institute Governmental Purchasing Certified Procurement Professional (NIGP-CPP) and is a National Institute Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) member. Ms. Salisbury graduated with honors from Columbia College with a Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies.
The WSD Board of Education has approved the hiring of Kim Boix as Director of Transportation, effective July 1, 2021. Ms. Boix is currently one of the Operations Managers for the Wentzville School District Transportation Department where she has worked since 2014. Ms. Boix previously served as a Bus Driver for the District from 2012-2014. Prior to joining the Wentzville School District, Kim held management positions as a Realtor/Marketing Director, a Collections Manager, and a Mortgage Director. Ms. Boix attended St. Charles Community College and has earned 56 hours in the area of Business Administration.
The WSD Board of Education has approved the hiring of Melissa Lamb as Coordinator for Parents as Teachers, effective July 1, 2021. Ms. Lamb is currently a Parent Educator for Wentzville School District where she has worked since January 2002. She started her career with the Wentzville School District as an Instructional Assistant at the Early Childhood Center. Ms. Lamb has served as a Missouri Parents as Teachers Consultant with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for the past four years where she has facilitated professional development and provided training for other Parents as Teachers professionals in the state. Ms. Lamb graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and a minor in Psychology.
The Board of Education approved the hiring of Erin Gaebe for the position of Director of Elementary Learning, effective July 1, 2021. Ms. Gaebe is currently the K-6 Literacy & K-8 Science Curriculum Coordinator and Instructional Coach for the School District of Washington. Prior to becoming a Curriculum Coordinator in 2014, she taught at South Point Elementary in the School District of Washington for seven years. Ms. Gaebe has served on the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Item Analysis Review Committee, Item Specifications Committee, and the Priority Standards Review Committee. Additionally, she has presented at the Interface Math/Science Conference, the Fox Summer Literacy Institute, and the SMCAA Conference.
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Priscilla Frost for the position of Director of Secondary Learning, effective July 1, 2021. Ms. Frost is currently an Assistant Principal at Lindbergh High School. Prior to becoming Assistant Principal in 2012, she taught English and Journalism and served as Department Chair at Lindbergh Schools for six years. Ms. Frost started her teaching career in the Hazelwood School District in 1999.
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Stephanie Hoffmeister for the position of Assistant Director of Adaptive Learning, effective July 1, 2021. Ms. Hoffmeister has been a Special Education teacher at the Mind Development Center since 2015. In that role, she has served as a teacher leader and as a new teacher mentor. Prior to working for the Mind Development Center, she was a Special Education teacher and Relationship Development Intervention Consultant at Howard Park Center Special Education.
