WSD FAMILIES & VISITING TEAMS,
The District has developed the following guidelines related to activities taking place at Wentzville School District facilities in an effort to continue to offer co-curricular and extracurricular activities for students with health and safety precautions in place. Effective this week:
Only immediate family members (parents & siblings) of participating students may attend co-curricular and extracurricular events ;
Masks are required for all spectators;
Physical distancing will be enforced;
Bleachers and seating will be marked to assist with appropriate distancing;
Siblings who attend must remain in seats with parents;
There will be no gate fees for the fall season.
We understand and appreciate that for many students extra curricular activities provide meaningful opportunities for growth and development and we are working to continue to provide those opportunities in the safest way possible. Information about guidelines for events outside of the Wentzville School District will be shared with our families prior to the scheduled event. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we look forward to the fall season.

Fall CAP Meeting/Meet the Coaches - TBD @ 6:30 PM - Theatre
Our goal is for all athletes to be on the field the first day of each season for tryouts/practices. We need your assistance to ensure that happens! We strive to communicate about two months prior to each season, to both parents & students via email, what needs to be done before each season begins. We keep our Athletics website up to date year round with all this information available to everyone 24/7, with just a few clicks of a mouse, you're able to find out all the information you need to participate in Athletics at Timberland!
All athletes are required to complete the online athletic registration for each season & every sport played that season.
FINAL CLEARANCE & CUT OFF DATE - **IMPORTANT CHANGE FOR FALL SPORTS**
FINAL CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED FOR ALL ATHLETES FOR EACH SPORT!
**For the fall season due to COVID, final clearances will be issued electronically. When the athlete has completed all items (physical, ImPact, registration) then Mrs. Finder will issue a final clearance in your Family Athletic Registration account. Athletes will not need to get the paper from the office.
Parents/athletes can check their account to make sure they have final clearance, if there is a "yes" under the final clearance column, you are cleared to participate on the first day. Athletes DO NOT need to print a copy of the clearance, coaches will receive a report. Please be patient with final clearance as the Fall season is the largest season.**
The Family Registration system DOES NOT automatically generate the Final Clearance after you register.
FALL 2020/2021 FINAL CLEARANCE CUT OFF DATE IS WEDNESDAY, 8/5/2020. NONE WILL BE ISSUED AFTER THIS DATE. THIS ALLOWS US TIME TO COMPILE THE REPORTS FOR THE COACHES ON 8/10/2020.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in taking care of everything to ensure you are ready to participate in practices/tryouts on the first day of Fall sports.
All physicals are valid for a period of two years from the date of issue. For example, date of physical 3/15/2020, physical will expire on 3/15/2022. Print a copy of the MSHSAA physical packet on our website, from the Family Athletic Registration page or pick up a copy in the Activities office #527 before going to your Doctor. A friendly reminder that we do not accept faxed copies of your MSHSAA Physical. The MSHSAA Physical must be brought to the Activities office. Students can drop off their physicals before school, after school or during lunch.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
STUDENT ATHLETE ATTENDANCE FOR PARTICIPATION IN COMPETITION
MSHSAA requires that all student athletes meet certain citizenship requirements in order to compete in school sports. One item that there has been some misunderstanding with is school attendance.MSHSAA requires that a student must attend 100% of the school day in order to participate in a competition (game). That means if a game is on a Saturday, the student must attend 100% of the day the Friday before the game. If the game is on a regular school day the student MAY NOT MISS ANY PART OF THAT DAY. The student MAY ONLY BE EXCUSED BY CONTACTING THE ACTIVITIES OFFICE WITH 24 HOURS NOTICE. In order to receive an excused absence for sports, you must call or e-mail the Activities Office at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. You may call or email Beth Finder, Assistant to the Activities Director or Mr. Todd Hayes, Activities Director. Please note that by simply placing a call or sending an e-mail DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOUR STUDENT ATHLETE HAS BEEN EXCUSED FOR THIS ABSENCE FOR COMPETITION (GAME). ONCE YOU HAVE SPOKEN TO ONE OF US OR WE HAVE REPLIED TO YOUR EMAIL WITH VERIFICATION THAT ABSENCE HAS BEEN EXCUSED, THEN YOUR STUDENT ATHLETE IS EXCUSED FOR THAT COMPETITION (GAME).These Competition (game) excusals are handled on an individual basis. An example of an excused absence is a physician appointment. We encourage all of our student athletes to avoid making appointments on practice & game days to be in 100% attendance to be eligible to participate.
