Students will read books from the twelve Mark Twain Award Nominees for the school year. However, students do not have to read all twelve books. Students will attend meetings or "training sessions" in the library on designated mornings. During the "training sessions", students will engage in fun group activities to learn more about the books. Then students will compete in a variety of competitions. Battle of the Books offers a fun and exciting competition format while encouraging students to grow as readers.

Film Festival Club
Sponsor - Ms. Cook
The Film Festival Club is offered to fourth and fifth grade students. Each year, the Wentzville School District encourages students to participate in the district-wide Film Festival. The student-led event is a wonderful way for students to create, write, produce, and shine as filmmakers. Students at the elementary level can participate in the district-wide competition, and the films can be created by students with the assistance of a teacher. The purpose of this club is to help students create and submit films for the district-level competition. During club meetings, students will view, create, edit, and produce films using WeVideo. Additional work time might be needed outside the club meeting times. We have had many amazing films submitted in previous years by LVE students as well as many winners! We are excited to start this club in January.
